Co-Star credit vs Featured/U5

Hey there. D. Candice Paule told me that the "Featured/U5" credit was applicable to AFTRA only, not SAG. If you have a "Featured/U5" credit linked to a SAG role then the CD will assume that you were an extra. The dayplayer credits start at "Co-Star" according to what she said. This contradicts what I've always learned, but I will be happy to change my F/U5 credits to Co-Star on my resume if it helps to not confuse me as an extra actor....no offense to extras out there. Any thoughts on this one ya'll?

I would be pretty wary of doing that. That goes against what I've always heard and I think Casting Director's would especially turned off if you listed a Co-Starring role for something that they consider to be U5.

It sounds especially weird to me because many actors will have both SAG and AFTRA roles on their resume and anyone looking at your resume most certainly won't go to check which union each of the roles was.

Yeah, I agree, there's no way they're gonna check each role vs what union it was done under. And thanks for the heads up....I for sure don't wanna overcredit myself and get caught. Especially when it's all small time stuff, it's just not worth it. I wanna be solid and stand in the truth so I don't have to remember what to lie about. Smile
